Take responsibility for our own children and be concerned about the
welfare of others.
Neither sponsor nor condone parties where parents are absent.
Not serve alcohol to other's children, high school or younger, nor
allow young people to bring alcohol or other drugs into our homes.
Communicate openly with other parents to establish a sense of community
and to provide support for parents in giving a consistent message to
youth.
Consistently support school and law enforcement policies regarding
the use of alcohol and other drugs by youth and encourage the use of
effective discipline.
Develop and communicate to our children a clear and firm position
about alcohol and drug use.
Set a responsible example for our children.
Have the courage to deal with peer pressure effectively and encourage
our children to do likewise.
Promote and encourage social activities without alcohol and other
drugs.
Help our children develop self-esteem as well as problem solving,
decision making and communication skills.
