Athletics - Sports Boosters

The Sports Boosters began this year in a very different position financially as we had only about $3,000 in our treasury.  I am glad to report that we have been very blessed with the support of our constituents which resulted in over $32,000 pledged in the Sailor Run. As concessions was also much better this year in both the fall and winter sports, we are able to continue supporting our teams and athletes as previously.

There will be a big change this spring at the Sports Park as we will be charging admission at all the events taking place there.  There will be a ticket booth near the entrance to the park. So unless you have a season pass, you will have to pay $5 for admission to the sports events on that day. 

Our final event for this year is the Golf Outing which is taking place on June 21, 2010, at Railside Golf Course.  Information will be sent out shortly on this event, or contact Bob Sack at bdsack@comcast.net.

Next fall, our Sailor Night will again be in August on the 24th so that parents will be able to meet with coaches to learn about the team's focus at the beginning of the season. The Sailor Run will again be held October 2nd at school with ALL athletes participating either in school or on the track behind school.  We will also host a breakfast in the Activities Center beginning at 9:00 A.M. on the same day as the run.
The Sports Auction will be held on February 26 2011, with Silent Auctions held on five dates prior to that time using the theme of the year.  We will have a Silent Auction table at a football game with a fall theme.  We will then have Silent Auction tables at four basketball games, one in December, one in January, and two in February.  Please watch for these events.

Sports Boosters continues to provide the cost of the trainer, all equipment and uniforms for our teams.  Equipment is provided by request of the coaches after two quotes have been obtained for their request.  Uniforms are provided on a scheduled five-year rotation with the uniforms handed down to the JV and freshman teams.  So you can see that uniforms might get used for 15 years except for replacements where needed.
