Professional Biography |
After graduating from Calvin College in 1994 with a B.A. in Business and Psychology, I worked for four and half years as an independent insurance agent. I knew fairly early on that this wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and felt called to teaching. I returned to Calvin, majored in History and Religion, and received a teaching certificate in Social Studies. Since then I have completed my Master's of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Grand Valley State University. I’ve been at SCHS since 2001 and have taught Church History, Religion 10 (Ethics & Apologetics), and Economics.

With two incredible daughters and an amazing wife, one might wonder why I would ever want to leave the house. Yet, I’ve got a great job that I thoroughly enjoy that gives me the opportunity to interact with many young adults with a knack for making life interesting.
