Professional Biography |
I received my BA in music education from Calvin College and taught at West Side Christian for 5 years; directing 3 bands and teaching music education classes. I have been a paraprofessional for the past 4 1/2 years here at South and have also been teaching clothing for the last 2 years. This year I will be the lead teacher in the Study Skills Center. Currently, I am attending Calvin College and pursuing a Masters' degree in Learning Disabilities which I will receive in May 2010.
Personal Biography |
I am married to Keith Sikkema who is a nursing technician at the Meijer Heart
Center. We have 3 grown children, two of whom are married, and 2 grandchildren. In my freetime, I am passionate about spending time with my grandchildren; I also love to read, garden, sew, and decorate.
Faith |
It is my faith in the Lord that has brought me to South Christian. After resigning from teaching at West Side and having other opportunities for employment, I did not see myself returning to education. I now know that the Lord leads where He wants us to go. He led me back to teaching with a new direction entirely. Now instead of directing a band of 50 students, I work one on one with students and enjoy it immensely. It is true that when we go where He wants us to go, it is there that we will be happiest.
