I taught middle and high school special education for 4 years in Deerfield and Champaign Illinois. Then I received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Michigan State University and began my career as a guidance counselor at South Christian.

Personal Biography

I am married with no children. My husband, Dane, is a psychologist at Hope Network in the Traumatic Brain Injury program and also has a private practice in Cascade. We enjoy boating on Spring and Big Whitefish Lakes. I like gardening, walking for exercise with my friends, reading, and re-decorating my 1950’s home in Northeast Grand Rapids.

Faith

As a counselor, helping students with problems, as well as helping them think about their futures, I am constantly reminded of God’s faithfulness to his people and his promises that he is always with us and will guide us if we trust Him and ask for His help. (Proverbs 3:5,6,7). God also promises his peace in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. What wonderful reassurances as we face unpredictable, often hurtful life experiences. More and more, I rely on these promises in my own life and I try to remind students of them.
