Professional Biography |
My road to the classroom was not a traditional path. After graduating from South Christian, I earned my Associate's Degree in Business from Davenport College. When our first child arrived, I became a stay-at-home mom. As I interacted with my own children, their friends, and children in Sunday School classes, I felt God nudging me to take on another role – high school teacher. I started taking college classes part-time and finally earned a Social Studies degree from Grand Valley in 1997. Working with high school students is stimulating, challenging and a blessing! Watching these students grow spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually during their four years of high school is just another measure of God’s faithfulness!
Personal Biography |
God has blessed my husband, John, and me with a wonderful family – our son, Ryan, and our daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Jordan. In the winter, downhill skiing is a favorite activity and in the summer, our family is a fan of Lake Michigan. If I want to relax by myself, I spend time with my flower gardens in the summer months and my sewing machine in the winter. Since my husband is a big auto-enthusiast, you might also see us at an antique car show, a car parts swap meet, or even a race track!

Now as an adult I think back to my catechism classes and realize I learned some very important lessons. These Biblical lessons have now become my beliefs. I am guilty because of my sin, but by God’s grace I have salvation through Jesus Christ. Now out of gratitude for this gift, I want to live a life of service to Him. Part of this service means that I want to share with my students that my God rules not only over my life but over the entire universe. All of it belongs to Him!
