Professional Biography |
I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree at Grand Valley State University and my Master of Music Education at VanderCook School of Music in Chicago, IL. I have taught band and orchestra for 13 years in three different school districts. I have been teaching at South Christian High School for nine years.
Personal Biography |
I have been married for six years to Tanya Craig. She is a realtor/broker in the Grandville area. We have a four-year old son Will and infant son Colin. My hobbies involve outdoor activities such as hiking and camping with my family. I also enjoy spending time in the summer at my parents' house in Pentwater, MI, where I grew up.
Faith |
I believe music has been a part of the world since Creation and it is a part of Creation that affects all other parts. Music changes people in their mood, emotions, and behavior. It is an important part of our lives. As a teacher in a Christian school, I believe it is my responsibility to encourage students to develop their knowledge of and skills in music to their potential. I desire to help students to know Christ, perceive themselves as His servants, and express this through music.
