I grew up in Flushing, Michigan, and attended Flushing High School. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University (2005) and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Grand Valley State University (2007). I began my career as a High School Counselor at Davison Public Schools. After three years there, I continued my career at Grandville High School. I pursued school counseling so I could combine my love for psychology with my desire to walk alongside high school-aged students. I am very excited to be at South Christian High School where I can continue to help guide students through their educational journey. I am married to Danny Brown (2003 SCHS Alum), and God has blessed us with three daughters (DaniLynn, Macy, and Josie). They attend Dutton Christian Elementary. In addition to my counseling role, I am the assistant girls’ varsity basketball coach. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing and watching sports, and traveling.

Faith Statement
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 What a great passage to believe in! This verse has been with me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, whenever I found myself in a difficult situation, my parents were amazing at comforting and redirecting me to God’s word. I now have the privilege of passing this on to my daughters. I believe that part of being strong and having courage is fully trusting in God, which can be hard at times. We don’t always have answers for the challenges we face, whether in relationships, work, friendships, sports, or life in general. I believe God has a plan for everyone, and He equips us each with unique talents that we can use to do His work. When we choose to fully trust in the Lord, we find our way. Looking back over all my life experiences, God was there and continues to be. I believe God allowed me the opportunity to be a School Counselor and Coach so I may share my faith journey with the students I walk alongside with. I feel very blessed to be a part of this school and community.
