I graduated from Calvin Christian School. I then attended Calvin College and received my Bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a History major and a P.E. minor. I then went on and received a Master’s degree from Michigan State University in curriculum development. I have been teaching at South Christian since 1986. I am married and my wife is a professional photographer. My oldest son is an English teacher at Ada Christian, and my youngest son is a student at Grand Valley State University.

Faith Statement
I believe that the home, church, and school work together to mold the spiritual walk for a young person. Being a part of the equation as a Christian school teacher is very rewarding and very exciting. It became very apparent to me in college that this was where the Lord was leading me for my calling. Every day I am affirmed that I am in the right place and doing God’s will. Through my teaching, I know in some small way God is using me to touch the lives of my students. What a blessing and privilege to be used in this way.
