Faith Statement

The mission statement at South Christian High School sums up how I strive to live as a humble servant to Christ. Because Jesus saved me, I can live joyfully for Him, sharing what He has done and looking to Him for my comfort, my help, and for my salvation. I have had the privilege of living out this mission statement in my work as an educator. Through compassion and empathy, I help students in their relationships, discipleship, and walk with Christ. I am authentic when meeting with students, and my hope is to remind students that God’s words are for all of us. I yearn to reach all students not as an expert but as a listener. The Reformed perspective provides a framework through which I support and love students in all areas of their life. Hebrews 6:13-20 tells of our assurance of God’s promises to us, and in verse 19 it reads “We have this (a strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope, set before us) as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.”
