I grew up in the Akron, Ohio area and started attending a Christian school in the fifth grade. I received a BS in Special Education from the University of Akron, and have taught and tutored in Special Education. I have also had the pleasure of coordinating the Special Needs Ministry at a local church for 10 years. I have been married to Tom for 23 years and have 3 children – Tyler, Macy, and Ryne. I love animals, especially my little dogs, hobby breeding, and dog sitting. I enjoy being outside and active.
Every year I am amazed at how God is intricately involved in the details of my life. My sister often reminds me that God is orchestrating the events of our lives, even when we don’t see or feel them. This has been proven to me over and over. I have seen this in the adoption of my oldest 2 children, many times with my third (biological) child, and even in my job at South Christian. God is so gracious to remind me how He cares for me and my family. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to influence high school students by sharing my faith journey and reminding them that God really is involved in the details even when things feel otherwise. He has a plan and purpose for every single one of us and it’s so exciting to be used by Him.
