Biography

Growing up I attended a South Suburban Christian school and graduated from South Christian. From there I went to Hope College for a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and then to Grand Valley State University for my Master of Social Work degree. I spent much of my career in medical social work and have also provided outpatient therapy. It was a fun twist when God led me back to the South Christian community to provide social work services here. What a blessing to walk with students and families here at South!

Faith Statement

Growing up in a Christian home and in Christian schools, my early life was consistently surrounded by people of faith. That faith became my own early on and I was truly able to make my relationship with Jesus Christ personal. Through every trial and difficulty in my life, God has shown Himself to be faithful. I praise and thank Him for that.

In regards to the intersection of my faith and my work, it is completely intertwined. My work often takes me into situations where there is hurt, loss, or struggle and I believe God has called me to His kingdom work in helping individuals find healing and restoration. It is my prayer that each person I work with feels seen, heard, and loved and that during their time with us at South Christian that they move closer to the full potential of all that God has created them to be as they learn and grow spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally.
