Amy Korringa

Biography

I grew up in Costa Rica where my parents were missionaries with Christian Reformed World Missions (now Resonate). When I was eight years old, we moved back to the U.S. I graduated from East Martin Christian High School and was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years. When my youngest was in Kindergarten, I began working at Cross Creek Charter Academy where I was an Intervention Parapro. This fall, I’ll be receiving an Associate’s degree from GRCC. I’m excited that God has led me to SCHS!

I have been married to my husband Steve for 11 years. We have a blended family with five kids. We are active members of Princeton CRC. We also enjoy traveling – especially to national parks, camping, fishing and hockey. My husband and I love to stay active. We recently completed our first Triathlon. Last year, I completed my first marathon. I also enjoy gardening, arts and crafts. 

Faith Statement

I grew up in a Christian home and attended Christian schools. However, it wasn’t until I had some really difficult life experiences that my Christianity became very real and very personal to me. Through the tough times, God has carried me and given me a peace beyond understanding. I pray that God will use me at SCHS to lead and guide the students not only academically but spiritually as well.

My favorite hymn is Cornerstone and my favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 3:16-21 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
