I graduated from Calvin College with a Major in Physical Education and a minor in History. I also have completed the Master of Education program at Western Michigan University. I have taught in a number of local Christian middle and high schools in a variety of subjects. I met my husband at Calvin College and we now have three children all of whom have graduated from SCHS. My husband Bob is also a teacher at SCHS. In the summers we love to visit National Parks and spend time with our extended family at Sandy Pines. I love to read, scrapbook, and do family activities like hiking and biking.

Faith Statement
I teach in a Christian school because I believe that God has called me to help children learn about themselves and their world from a Christian point of view. I want children to understand that they are valuable and special to God. I want them to see God’s work in the world through His creation, His people, and His word. I want students to see that each of them is an important part of God’s kingdom and that he has a calling for each one of them. I believe that Christian education is important to the Christian community because it helps develop good Christian leaders in our churches and our community. This provides a firm foundation on which Christ will continue to build His church.
