Biography

I graduated from Calvin University with a major in English Secondary Education and a minor in ESL. I completed my student teaching experiences at East Grand Rapids Middle School and Rockford Freshman Center, where I enjoyed engaging with students and collaborating with fellow educators. Attending international schools before college allowed me to develop a deep appreciation of cultural diversity, so I love traveling around and learning about different cultures and traditions.

Faith Statement

To me, following Jesus means striving each day to become more like Him. The Lord continually reveals Himself through the people He places in my life. I could go on about how I learned about the Fruit of the Spirit through my family, friends, teachers, and professors. Because God has been so good to me, I desire to become a tangible example of the fruit to those around me. Student teaching showed me that I can reflect Christ’s character in the way I teach and care for my students. This realization has filled me with both passion and a sense of responsibility for integrating my faith into the classroom, even when it’s challenging. I welcome those challenges, and I am eager to not only teach and mentor students but also learn from this supportive community!
