Biography

I graduated from Cornerstone University with a Degree in Learning Disabilities, Physical Education, and Elementary Education. I received my  Masters in Cognitive Impairments from Grand Valley State University. Prior to coming to South Christian, I was an Inclusion Specialist for students with special needs for five years. I have experience working with students with special needs from newborns to adults. I am recently married to my husband Daniel. In our free time, we enjoy being physically active playing different sports, cooking, and enjoying theater and musicals.

Faith Statement

I believe in the five majors: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Church, New Heaven and New Earth (Consummation). As a believer in Christ, I am daily reminded what a privilege it is to be a daughter, servant, and soldier of God. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” This Double Love Command is of utter importance in my life and my teaching.
I have personally reaped and implemented the value of having a Christian Education. I believe in “training a child in the way they should go.” I passionately aspire to equip students to live Christ-centered lives and serve God to their greatest potential. My hope is for every student to know their identity in Christ and know that they have amazing gifts that God has given them to change the world. This includes all students, especially those with special needs.
