Biography

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with my Bachelor of Science in 2014 with majors in Mathematics and Education and a minor in psychology. I previously taught at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School for two years as an assistant math teacher and am beyond excited to begin my journey at South Christian High School. I married my husband Johnny in 2015 and we currently live in Alger Heights. For fun I like to get outdoors, whether that means hiking, playing volleyball, walking our dog, or playing tennis. I also have a passion for music and I currently serve on the Ada Bible Worship Team where my husband and I attend church.

Faith Statement

I was very blessed to grow up in a Christian household where I had parents who prayed for me and with me daily. It was through them and other Christian leaders and mentors that I learned what it meant to live a Christ-centered life. However, I am very aware that this is not the case for many children today. This truth was one of the main reasons I decided to become a teacher. I am so thankful for a career where I get to play a part in molding today’s youth into the people God intends for them to be. I know God has placed me here at South Christian for a reason and I pray daily for His guidance in helping me be the best teacher, friend, and Godly example that I can be.
