Biography

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with my Bachelor of Science in 2014 with majors in Mathematics and Education and a minor in psychology. This is my eighth year teaching at South Christian after previously teaching at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School for two years. It has been an absolute joy to teach at South for the past seven years having formed wonderful relationships with staff and students. My husband, Johnny, and I have been married for nine years and have two boys. Sutter is five and attending Legacy Christian, while Grayson is two and living the dream at daycare.  For fun, I like to get outdoors and play tennis, volleyball, go for walks with our dog or a hike in the woods. In the fall you will find me in front of the TV on Saturdays as watching college football is also a favorite pastime of mine (go blue!). I also have a passion for music and I currently serve on the Ada Bible Worship Team where my family attends church.

Faith Statement

I was very blessed to grow up in a Christian household where I had parents who prayed for me and with me daily. It was through them and other Christian leaders and mentors that I learned what it meant to live a Christ-centered life. However, I am very aware that this is not the case for many children today. This truth was one of the main reasons I decided to become a teacher. I am so thankful for a career where I get to play a part in molding today’s youth into the people God intends for them to be. I know God has placed me here at South Christian for a reason and I pray daily for His guidance in helping me be the best teacher, friend, and Godly example that I can be.
