Biography

I graduated from Calvin College in 2002 and since then have taken many course in my field at Western Michigan University. While growing up, my educational experience was very positive. I was blessed with wonderful teachers in my life and I always knew I wanted to serve by being in the field of education. As long as I would be working with students it didn’t matter what I would be doing, but my two favorite subjects were Phys Ed and Psychology, so it seemed obvious to major and minor in those two fields. My husband Tony and I have three children and we attend Caledonia CRC. I enjoy being with my family and friends, participating in triathlons, and doing crafts.

Faith Statement

I feel God led me to teach at South Christian High School to use the gifts He has blessed me with and to be a Christian educator and role model to the students here. I love being active and educating students to understand and achieve life-long fitness and learn not only why, but how, to be active individually, recreationally, through dance or team sports and competitions. I love watching students improve physically and mentally over the course of a quarter or semester. One of the favorite parts of my job is the relationships I form with my students. My goal as a Physical Educator is to encourage my students to take care of the body they have been blessed with. God has provided each of us with different physical abilities and I want my students to do their best with what they’ve been given.
