Biography

I grew up in Holland, Michigan and graduated from Holland Christian in 2016. I moved to Sioux Center, Iowa to study special education and received a minor in reading from Dordt University. After graduation, I moved back to Michigan and met a South Christian graduate and recently got married in July of 2023. My husband and I both came from large families and love spending time with them doing activities such as camping, going to the cottage, traveling, and relaxing! I love thrifting and sharing my lucky finds with those around me.

Faith Statement

I grew up with an older sister with special needs who functioned with the abilities of a 2 month old. As I grew up tube feeding her, pushing her in her wheelchair, laughing with her, and helping take care of her, I realized at a young age what I was called to do. Regardless of our disabilities or our abilities, God made us all perfect in his image. We are called to LOVE.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” ~Romans 12:2

As a follower of Christ, I am called to be unique. I’m called to encourage my students to discover their spiritual gifts and use them to serve the Lord, to grow their confidence in their place in His Kingdom.
